Art joined Chuck McFarland's State Farm team in June 2020, after graduating from Portland State University.
He loves playing dominoes with friends, as well as watching movies and playing video games. Being a self-proclaimed "huge collector," he loves collecting manga and anime, as well as board games he enjoys playing. One day, he would love to travel to Germany, Japan, Thailand, and Poland.
Art loves working for Chuck McFarland's State Farm, sharing "I love problem-solving and working with the customer to find the ideal coverage for the price that works for them."

Maria Amezcua

Maria started working as a State Farm team member in March 2023, and joined Chuck McFarland's team in October 2023.
In her free time, you can find Maria on a trail in Washington’s beautiful landscapes, riding a mini dirt bike on a mountain trail, or paddle-boarding on a lake. Having grown up in a tightly-knit family, she also loves cooking together in the kitchen and having big get-togethers during the holidays.
Maria also loves trying new foods from local restaurants, and she one day hopes to visit Greece and travel around Europe, where she can enjoy trying all of the local cuisine.
In her professional role, Maria likes explaining the details of insurance to people, so they get a full understanding of all the necessary coverages and can help them learn something that hasn’t been explained before.
Having the ability to speak both English and Spanish is something that Maria holds near and dear to her heart. “Being able to explain coverages, different policies, and answering questions in Spanish is something I can say I am extremely proud of. I will always enjoy helping my Hispanic and Latino community with my line of work.”

Synan Edwards

Synan (pronounced sin-ON) serves as Office Manager on our team. She has worked in the insurance industry for over 12 years, eight of which have been with State Farm, and she has been a valuable part of Chuck McFarland's State Farm team since November 2020.
She is a proud mother to two beautiful daughters. She is also grateful for her Cambodian heritage and speaks Khmer in addition to English. She loves brunches with her family and friends and feels that potlucks with great company, music, and games are her perfect definition of quality time.
Synan loves exploring nature, especially when the weather is hot and sunny. She plans on traveling all over the world with her girls, with Africa and Italy topping her bucket list. She truly likes doing things she isn't yet good at, because she loves to learn new things.
What Synan loves most about working at Chuck McFarland's State Farm is "being able to connect and build relationships with our customers while helping them secure their future."

TJ Navarrete

TJ joined Chuck McFarland’s State Farm team in March 2025, bringing with him over a year of experience working within the insurance industry.
TJ proudly comes from a Hispanic background and grew up in Tri-Cities, WA. In his free time, you can find him exploring new restaurants, traveling to exciting destinations, or enjoying a round of golf. He’s loved his travels to Italy, Guatemala, and Mexico, and has his sights set on Japan and South Korea for future adventures.
Staying active is important to TJ, so his weekends are often filled with running, taking leisurely strolls around Green Lake, or hitting the gym. At home, he shares life with his partner and their spirited cat.
Why does TJ love working at Chuck McFarland State Farm? He shares: “I’m passionate about helping customers and ensuring that their property, investments, and families are well taken care of. Being part of the Chuck McFarland team feels like home to me; the genuine care and support we share for our customers aligns perfectly with my own values. Michelle McFarland
Marketing Director

Though Michelle officially joined the team in March 2023, she has been a long-time supporter of Chuck McFarland State Farm. In fact, she's married to Chuck, and has been there since the beginning, back when the agency was launched in April 2008. She remembers fondly the nights that she and Chuck would bring their young family into the office to have "picnic dinners" on the floor while Chuck served customers' needs after-hours and Michelle cleaned the office. Fun times!
Prior to her officially starting with the team, Michelle served for 13 years in higher education. She now serves as Marketing Director, where she manages social media, advertising, events, customer appreciation, and many "other duties as assigned" involved with running a small business. She loves working on such a diverse and special team of professionals, and really sees the impact of the work that the team does even just within her own social network. Plus, she enjoys working alongside her partner and favorite person, Chuck!
Michelle loves 80s music, travel, watching Survivor, and hanging out with friends, family, and dog Bailey. She and Chuck are both very proud of their three adult kids (plus a daughter-in-law!), who are all wonderful humans!
Though Michelle is a licensed insurance agent in property and casualty, as well as life and disability, she does the majority of her work behind the scenes, to make our agency hum!
